The YMCA (Young Men's Christian Association) is a community-focused organization dedicated to promoting youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility. As a YMCA Supervisor, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth operation of various programs and services offered by the YMCA, while also maintaining a safe and inclusive environment for all participants.
Responsibilities:
Team Leadership and Management:
- Lead and supervise a team of staff members, providing guidance, support, and mentorship.
- Conduct regular team meetings to ensure clear communication and alignment with organizational goals.
Program Oversight:
- Oversee the planning, implementation, and evaluation of various programs, ensuring they align with the YMCA's mission and objectives.
- Collaborate with program coordinators to develop and update program curricula.
Safety and Compliance:
- Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and YMCA policies, conducting regular safety audits and drills.
- Address any safety concerns promptly and effectively.
Participant Engagement:
- Foster a positive and inclusive environment for all participants, encouraging active participation and a sense of belonging.
- Address participant feedback and concerns in a professional and timely manner.
Budget Management:
- Assist in the development and management of program budgets, ensuring resources are allocated effectively and efficiently.
Community Outreach and Engagement:
- Represent the YMCA in the community, building relationships with stakeholders, partners, and local organizations.
- Seek opportunities for collaboration and community involvement.
Training and Development:
- Coordinate and facilitate staff training sessions to ensure team members are equipped with the necessary skills and knowledge to excel in their roles.
Reporting and Documentation:
- Maintain accurate records and documentation related to program attendance, incidents, and evaluations.
- Prepare and submit reports to the higher management as required.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in a related field (e.g., Recreation Management, Education, Social Work) or equivalent experience.
- Previous experience in a supervisory or leadership role, preferably in a community-based organization or similar setting.
- Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Knowledge of youth development principles and best practices.
- First Aid and CPR certification (or willingness to obtain).
